8/10
Right off Nakamise-dori, this spot's like finding a hidden treasure! The futon felt like a fluffy cloud after long days exploring, and them welcoming smiles from the staff made me feel right at home. Wish they'd invest in better soundproofing. could hear folks in the hallways a bit too clearly for my liking.

The staff seemed woeful in trying to impress, especially considering the dusty corners of my room. the bath was a major letdown too, certainly not up to the standards you'd expect from such a 'renowned' ryokan. I almost considered a decent rating but just couldn’t bring myself to do it.

During my solo stay, I found the ryokan to be a charming retreat right off the busy Nakamise-dori leading to Sensoji. The atmosphere was lovely, especially with the evening lights illuminating the surroundings. I enjoyed the peace it offered, yet I was just a short walk away from vibrant food stalls and shops. The futon was surprisingly comfortable, making it easy to get restful sleep after a day of exploration.

Centrally located near historic landmarks, I enjoyed easy access to Sensoji temple and traditional shopping streets. The air conditioning kept the room comfortable during the summer, and the tatami mats surprisingly offered some of the best sleep I've had.

We stayed with our three kids and had a wonderful experience. The location was unbeatable, just a step away from Sensoji temple. The room was notably clean, and the tatami mats added a lovely touch of authenticity. Owner Chikako was incredibly helpful, making our stay memorable.
My wife says that more lounge space would be great for families.

The location is unbeatable, right next to a historic temple and charming streets filled with shops. The welcoming treatment from the staff made each day enjoyable, and the tatami mats offered a unique and authentic touch to the stay. However, soundproofing is lacking. noise from the hallways can be intrusive at times, and the limited shopping hours around the temple were somewhat inconvenient. Dinner options were also limited, especially for those seeking more variety than sushi.
